Worship
We won't lie, we are small and curious; authentic and loving. When you worship at Seventh Street Christian Church, you will experience a welcoming environment accepting of all people. Our worship is an intersection of traditional worship (hymns, prayers, communion) infused with a refreshing and creative approach that allows for a modern application. Each week is different.

While we worshiped fully online during the pandemic, we learned some things about how to engage more fully with God and with each other. We brought those lessons back to in person worship. For example:
-
While online worship wasn’t perfect, there was an intimacy as we saw each other’s faces, instead of the backs of heads. In response, we removed several pews and set up chairs to cultivate community. We invite you to sit up close to fully connect in worship.
-
Communion is central in the Disciples of Christ tradition, so you will notice the Communion Table is centrally located to everyone. Communion is also open to EVERYONE!
-
We project those who are joining us remotely on a screen. We want everyone to feel seen and welcomed.
-
Don’t worry about what to wear, just be comfortable.

As the practice of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), SSCC observes weekly communion and everyone is welcome to the table. Taking the example of Jesus’ radical hospitality, we practice an open communion table – so no matter who you are, where you are from or where you are on your spiritual journey, you are invited to partake in communion.
