Telecare, a daily telephone ministry established by Hanover Ave. Christian Church in 1971, works to serve by calling on those who live alone to check in and enjoy pleasant conversation. Originally started to reach older, inactive members who lived alone, it spread to the wider community. The daily phone calls provide a sense of security and well-being for those who are called and their loved ones.

How it works:

Trained volunteers call each morning to see how Telecare members are doing.

If a member can not be reached, volunteers reach out to a designated neighbor or relative to assist.

The ministry is free.
